about me
So, you want to know more about me than the sum of my work, huh? Bravo! I am what results when an artist heart and an engineering mind collide. I love the traditional aspects of design, such as color, photography and illustration, gestalt, and symmetry. But my real passion is the structure of design—the fundamental systems supporting the pretty pictures.

The History
I was born and raised an Air Force daughter, and I've lived all over the United States. My peak of formal education is a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design coupled with a minor in Marketing from the State University of New York at Oswego. My informal education is ongoing. I currently work in the D.C. metro area. |

The Philosophy
I'll be the first to tell you, when a truly creative designer is needed to invent the perfect ad campaign to drive sales for a client, I'm not the highest-ranked choice around. The best designers are the ones who know his or her personal strengths and weaknesses. They know when to step up to the plate to get the job done, and when to collaborate with a designer of different strengths.
My strongest asset is in the technical, the consistent, the accurate. I can take another designer's concept and assemble it in design software or illustrate it on paper efficiently and correctly, and do it in record time. My brain is wired to pinpoint inconsistencies and errors, even across documents of 100 pages or more. If I have a formal style manual to follow, I am a production machine.

The Site
LindseyRoe.com is now in its second iteration. This version combines my personal and professional sites into one, allowing me to focus on maintaining consistent quality across the entirety of my creative work online. This site is built and styled with mid-level CSS with a minimum of scripting to give it the widest browser compatibility possible. |
